COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M running back Deondre Jackson is on the move.
Jackson, who’s from Stone Mountain, Ga., announced Friday via social media that he is entering the NCAA transfer portal. The freshman redshirted in 2020 and collected three carries for 13 yards over his two seasons at A&M.
Even with junior Isaiah Spiller off to the NFL, the Aggies are loaded at running back with Devon Achane, LJ Johnson, Amari Daniels and newcomer Le’Veon Moss, so playing time likely would have been hard to come by for Jackson in coming seasons.
A&M, 8-4 in 2021, opens its fifth season under coach Jimbo Fisher on Sept. 3 against Sam Houston at Kyle Field.
